Eagles Hire Former Cowboys And Chargers Boy Wonder Kellen Moore As Offensive Coordinator

Ladies and gentleman...WE GOT HIM!!! 

Wait...no? Kellen Moore is still the offensive guru golden boy that we were made to believe revolutionized the game more than the forward pass, right? Damn. I thought Kellen Moore was the youngest, greatest, freshest, most creative, dangerous, revolutionary offensive football mind of all-time. At least that’s what we were for some reason told EVERY SINGLE SECOND he coached on the Cowboys. 

OK. Fun. Now let's attempt to look at this hire objectively. 

On one hand, he's a Cowboys retread coach. Likewise on the other hand, he's had two shots in two spots with two VERY above average QBs/offenses (yes, Dak is Dak but is still better than most in the NFL, obv) and got dismissed from both jobs. Meanwhile, down the third leg he seemingly did creative, solid, non-bubble screen every play stuff like this with the likes of Keenen Allen with the Chargers: 

We conveniently forget/ignore AJ Brown had a NFL record 6-straight games of 125+ receiving yards with Brian Johnson calling the plays - THIS SEASON. So take Kellen Moore's impressive stats with Keenen Allen as you wish. This is going to be interesting and honestly I'm not really sure how to take it right now. Obviously Moore isn't the most genius football mind the media had everyone to believe when he started calling plays for the Cowboys in 2019. If he was, he'd still be in Dallas. Or a head coach. Or Harbaugh would want him to stick with the Chargers. There's an element of stank to this, for sure. 

On the flip side, Moore was still a hot commodity around the league. He interviewed for the same position with the Browns before getting swiped up by the Birds almost immediately. I guess that's a good thing? I don't even know anymore. If we were confident Sirianni knew what he was doing then there'd be a little more faith. 

Then again, it can't really get much worse than it got this year, right? Exactly. Now let us remind ourselves of that fact and conclude the 2023 mess of an Eagles season with every single pass thrown behind the line of scrimmage - all ZILLION of them - delightfully set to Wii menu music. Enjoy! Or not.

PS - Kellen Moore had been around for 40+ years and is only 35. The math will never add up.
